I've been writing this "Community Highlight" section for over a year, and in doing so, I've checked out more city websites than I can remember. I'll tell you what, Westbrook's "Downtown" website is the most beautiful, vibrant, and informative I've come across. Check it out here, and while you're at it, take a look at all of their upcoming events!
Next time you're in the area, we suggest checking out...
Prides Corner Drive-In
Opened in 1953 (70 years!), this theatre has been through the best of times, and the worst of times, but it always manages a bit of revival in one form or another. The way the city and its patrons rally around its return each year is something truly beautiful, and it seems as though the owners recognize that too. Check out their always currentFacebook Page to see what features are planning, showing times, and all the events they have scheduled!
Smiling Hill Farm - Whether you've only just moved here or you're a lifelong Mainer, chances are you've not only heard of this farm but tasted some of its incredible products. This farm is a staple to young and old alike. A visit to the barnyard exhibit followed by a stop at the dairy store is a perfect way to spend a day.
PHOever Maine
I'm going to tell you all something that may lose us some subscribers...I don't care for cilantro. That's putting it very kindly. But I mean, with a name like PHOever Maine, how could I not be intrigued? The reviews are nothing short of spectacular, their menu looks delicious (sans cilantro of course), and the cocktail list is extensive! I have yet to visit this place, but I had to share it with you. I hope you'll join me in keeping this place on your "Must Visit" list!
