In light of our recent listing on Mooselookmeguntic Lake up in the Rangeley Lakes Region, I figured I would bring some attention to a local tap house that has become a favorite of mine. The Portage Tap House is located in the quaint town of Oquossoc which is less than a five mile drive from downtown Rangeley. I visit this area of Maine a handful of times throughout the year and stopping into the Portage Tap House is a tradition at this point!
The interior of the restaurant is warm and inviting. Wrought iron and plenty of reclaimed wood add to the atmosphere where you can enjoy the open kitchen concept and check out the large copper wood fired oven. The menu is diverse and really has something for everyone. I am a huge fan of chicken wings, especially over roasted, and the wings here definitely do not disappoint! The wood fired pizzas are also worth trying as well. The beer menu is extensive and features local favorites like Maine Beer Company, Bissell Brothers, Baxter and Orono Brewing just to name a few. They also have several ciders and hard seltzers if you are not a fan of beer.
So the next time you are up in the Rangeley Lakes Region make sure to stop in to the Portage Tap House to check it out!"
