One of my favorite pastimes is going and visiting home decor stores and getting an idea of what is in style. I am not talking about Home Depot, Lowes, Target, or even Marshalls. I am talking about the local ones right here around Portland, Maine.
Gooey Gump Designes is right in Portland and is a mixture of fun gifts and home decor like pillows and wall art.
Blanche and Mimi is in the heart of downtown Portland in the Old Port. They offer everything from natural body care to french knife sets. The napkins are one of my favorites.
Folly 101 has everything from spices, to cute baby clothes. Candles to kitchen accessories. This is a store not to miss.
These stores are great to get ideas from. Not everyone can afford their prices, as some can be pricier than others. But take those ideas and search Amazon for more affordable home decor.
