Market Update

New listings in both Cumberland and York Counties take yet another dramatic drop compared to last year. 17% to 18% less homes were listed in August compared to a year ago. If you remember from last month's newsletter, the reduction in new listings was 17.38% in York County and 26.29% in Cumberland County for July.

 

 

While buyers are feeling the pinch as interest rates rise, the reduction in inventory is providing additional sting. Sales prices are still up year-over-year which is an indication that demand is still outpacing supply. For those that need to relocate, it's slim pickings at many price points and locations.

 

Time will tell how this will affect the market, and we'll keep an eye on things.
