Local Hikes

Located less than five minutes from downtown Freeport this dog friendly trail offers several routes to reach the highest point in town. The full loop is just under three miles long and will take you a little over an hour to complete. The trail junctions were a little difficult to find which added some extra time to the hike but overall it is very manageable to navigate. The trails are lined with old stone walls and plenty of thick vegetation to provide ample shade throughout the hike.  The elevation change to the summit is minimal (301 feet) and the trails are very well maintained. The summit offers pleasant views of the area and we were able to catch a glimpse of Mt. Washington in the distance! So if you are in the Freeport area with a couple hours to kill and are looking for an easy hike with your pup this is definitely worth a visit.
