Located in Brownfield, this 3.8 mile loop is dog friendly and offers a couple of different routes. The trail for the most part is moderately difficult but there are definitely a few areas that involve some scaling. You have two choices for trails once you reach the trailhead, yellow or blue. I decided to take the blue trail or the "North Peak Trail" for my hike. Little did I realize that I was taking the most direct route to the summit which involves roughly 1,400 feet of elevation gain! In more than a few areas I had to help my dog up the trail due to some rock faces and steep terrain. The summit is well worth the effort and the views of the surrounding mountains were excellent! The descent was very easy and peaceful with the whole trail taking roughly 3 hours to complete. Learn more about the trail here!

If you are in the mood for a bit of a longer, less aggressive, hike you could take the yellow trail instead. The "Twins Brook Trail" is a much more gradual ascent to the same summit but can take up to 4 hours to complete. The yellow trail has a nice brook that accompanies you most of the way. Happy hiking!
